Step 2 · Speak
Before the day begins
Read aloud, with room for pauses. About five minutes.
Before the day asks anything of me, I take a moment to arrive. Feet planted, knees easy, shoulders settled. My ribs widen with the breath; my jaw releases. I look myself in the eye and give the next few minutes my full attention.
Across the quiet room, past the half-open door, my voice carries warmth, weight, and a clear point of view.
I give each thought enough air, each word its full shape, each sentence a clear ending. I let the vowels open and the pauses settle. There is time to be understood.
Pay attention. Speak clearly. Follow through.
Before I open my own list, I consider the team: who needs clarity, what is blocked, and what matters most. I prioritize, prepare meetings with a purpose, and protect time to focus on working.
Precise proposals, practical questions, and promptly kept promises turn complex plans into progress people can trust.
I work like an intern. I believe like a manager. I speak like a partner.
I learn the details, take responsibility for the whole, and bring an honest view to the table. I do the small jobs properly. I ask for help early. I make it easier for others to do good work.
When pressure rises, I resist rushed assumptions, distinguish what is certain from what is possible, and choose a precise response.
I can disagree without dismissing someone. I can be wrong and change my mind. When a conversation gets difficult, I slow down, breathe, and finish the thought without forcing the volume.
Pay attention. Speak clearly. Follow through.
My personal relationships are a safe space, with no pressure to perform. The people I love can arrive exactly as they are, and so can I. I look out for them. I make my love visible in ordinary things: a call, a meal, a promise remembered.
I can sit beside someone’s sadness, resist the rush to reassurance, and listen without rehearsing my response.
I meet people with curiosity and excitement. There is something here I do not know yet. I ask, listen, and follow the answer somewhere unexpected. I learn what matters to them, draw them into the conversation, and look for a chance to make them happy.
Thoughtful questions, unexpected perspectives, and shared bursts of laughter turn strangers into people whose stories stay with me.
Pay attention. Speak clearly. Follow through.
I speak clearly and pronounce correctly because the person listening deserves the effort. I keep my fingernails clean and groomed. I build muscle every day through training, food, and recovery. These small commitments deserve a place in my day, even when it gets crowded.
Strength grows through strict technique, patient practice, proper meals, and the discipline to rest before exhaustion steals tomorrow’s progress.
I will leave this mirror and meet a day I cannot fully predict. I can choose where my attention goes, how I speak, and what I follow through on. The first useful thing is waiting. I begin there.
